Are you feeling stuck? As if nothing in life is going your way? Did you know you get what you focus on? Its true. I didn’t believe it either at first but the more I thought about it and the more I worked on changing my mindset the more it made since to me.
When I say you get what you focus on I don’t mean that new house on your vision board that you stare at every single day merely wishing it into your reality. Sadly that is where the Law of Attraction has deceived so many people. But that is another topic for another day.
Our thoughts are more powerful than we realize. In some cases our thoughts can be extremely damaging. When you think, you are building thoughts, and those thoughts start to become your reality.
What the Bible says about Focus
If you are a negative person and are always talking about the bad then you will receive more of the things you are focused on even if its bad. Focus on the good and you receive more good. Just as the Bible verse above says “As he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
So, if you think you are a failure then you will fail at pretty much everything. However, if you think the opposite then you will be the just that. Unfortunately, it doesn’t stop there. What you think of yourself and how you see yourself is exactly how others will see you as well.
For example, if you believe that you are a failure then you will probably never follow through with anything. If you lack confidence then you will convince yourself you are going to fail anyways and probably never even start or you just won’t finish.
The Good – The Bad
Focus on the good and that is what you will get. In all honesty why would God give you good things if you are just going to be ungrateful about it? I’m not saying He gives us bad things because we focused on the bad but He does give us good things when we are grateful for the things we have.
I wrote a post about gratitude that you can read here (after you are done with this post). The truth is what we choose to believe becomes our reality. We have the ability to change our reality by shifting our focus to the good. Something didn’t go your way? So what! Let it go.
Is it something you can control? If not then why worry about things you can’t control? Worrying will not make it better it will just make circumstances worse.
Think about a time you was worried about something you could not control. Did worrying make it better? I seriously doubt it. In fact I know it didn’t. If anything worrying made it worse because that is what you was focusing on.
I know first hand how hard it is to let something go. Especially something out of your control. If it is something you can control then find a way to solve it. Find the good in the situation and work from there. When you focus on the good you will likely get more good. If it is something you can’t control then just let it go.
When you start paying attention to your thoughts you will begin to recognize just how much you have been lying to yourself. By paying attention to what you think you will be able to capture those thoughts and replace them with good, loving, and grateful thoughts.
Our thoughts are very powerful and determines the outcome of what our focus is. If you found value in this post please share or leave a comment. And remember you get whet you focus on.
