ARE YOU A STRUGGLING CHRISTIAN MOM?
- Are past Sins controlling your life? Do you struggle with your Faith?
- Is Worry and Fear controlling your life?
- Do you feel lost and not sure where God is leading you?
Hi, I’m Shauna…
an Introvert Christian, Wife, Mom, and Blogger. And now I’m here to help you Stop Struggling through Humble Confessions.
I currently live in Edwardsville, Illinois with my husband, two kids who are 22 and 10, and of-course our three puppydogs, who think they are human, true story. My step-daughter who I adore is 14, stays over on the weekends.
I grew up in church and was saved as a young child. Somewhere down the broken path I quit trusting God and took my own route in life.
Turning to drugs, sex, and alcohol to fill the hole in my heart only led me to more bad choices. Choices that later turned into consequences.
One morning, in December of 2014, I woke up with no job and no money. Here I was homeless with two kids and no where to call home.
By January of 2015 I had lost everything.
With not one but two failed marriages on my record I felt like a complete failure and disappointment to God.
What made matters even worse was no one seemed to understand how hard it was for a Single Mom of two to make it.
My Struggles were real, my Faith was lacking, and I felt so alone even in a big church full of Christians.
Worry and Fear were controlling my life. Not only did I feel alone but I felt stuck. I didn’t know what God wanted let alone where He was leading me.
Sleeping on a twin mattress on the floor that I shared with then 6 year old son while my teenage daughter slept on my parents couch; I knew something had to change.
That is when I took full responsibility for where I was in life. I stopped blaming others for my poor choices and vowed to God to always put Him first from that moment on.
I changed my mindset and life hasn’t been the same since.
Purpose of Confessions of a Baptist …
Sometimes it is hard to understand WHY something is happening to you. At least that’s how it was for me.
I used to be that person that Bad Luck followed like a shadow.
Instead of looking to God for love I looked to the world. Are you looking to the world for love?
However, I choose to learn from my mistakes.
It just so happened to take two failed marriages to get me in a Marriage I love and work hard on everyday.
I am far from being the best Christian, Wife, or Mom. But one thing I am is an Overcomer of Worry, Fear, and a Poor Mindset!
At Confessions of a Baptist we share confessions about Faith, Worry, and Christian Mindset.
All in hopes to help you become an Overcomer too!
It took me a long time to understand I am not in this world for me.
I believe God allowed me to go through the trials I went through so that I can now help you.
God will meet us right where we are and take us where He wants us to go. We just have to let Him.
God never said that the journey would be easy, but He did say that the arrival would be worthwhile – Max Lucado
