Warning! If you are for Gun Control and/or you are easily offended “please do not read this post”. I am being very honest as usual and only giving my opinion along with any facts I have come across.
“I think my God, my Lord, protected me and gave me the skills to do what needed to be done.” He rushed over when he heard the gunshots on that sad and cold Sunday morning. “I just wish I could’ve gotten there faster.” – Stephen Willeford, known Hero of the mass shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas – November 5, 2017
God, Guns, and Armed Christians.
Whether you live in America or not I am sure you are well aware of the Gun Control dispute that is taking place. The Democrats are for Gun Control and the Republicans are not. At least not the harsh restrictions Democrats are trying to place on the law abiding citizens like myself.
For years and years all I have heard is how dangerous guns are. As a gun owner I will certainly agree with this. Guns are dangerous in the wrong hands.
What I won’t agree with is guns are the problem. Guns are NOT the problem, the problem is the person behind the gun.
I agree that a better background check should be put in place. However, it should be free and fast as The Right to Bear Arms is our 2nd Amendment Right.
Driving a car and holding a valid Drivers License is a Privilege. Owning a Gun and carrying it whether it is concealed or open is very much an American Right.
Does Jesus Want His People Packing?
There are several verses throughout the Bible where God’s people went to war and fought to protect themselves. David is a great example of this when he fought Goliath in 1 Samuel 17.
What about in Numbers 31:3 So Moses spoke to the people, saying, “Arm men from among you for the war, that they may go against Midian to execute the Lord’s vengeance on Midian.”
The Bible repeatedly says to take up the armor of God and protect ourselves from the Devil. Whom is roaming the earth like a roaring lion.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, The Devil Made Me Do It, Satan can not control us or make us do anything. He can influence us but he has no control. Just as he can not possess a human body who is child of God.
However, he can possess a human body that is not a child of God. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not saying people who commit mass shootings are possessed.
What I am saying is those people are clearly not children of God and they are indeed very evil. Hence “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” – 1 Peter 5:8
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm” Eph 6:13.
I personally believe God wants us to protect ourselves.
Is Gun Control Really People Control?
If the Government is so concerned about Americans’ safety when it comes to Guns then please tell me what the difference is between People being killed by Guns and Babies being killed by Doctors or Citizens killed by Illegal Aliens?
There isn’t a difference. All of the acts spoken of are committed by humans not guns, not forceps or prongs, or any other weapon of choice.
This is just my opinion but I truly believe what is going in the world today is exactly what the Bible is talking about in John 15:18-27
“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you;”
Again I could be wrong. But it is hard not to feel this way when our own Government is making it okay to abort babies all the way up to delivery (a law trying to be passed in Illinois).
Illegal Aliens are welcomed into our country illegally. Yet as an American Citizen we have to fight for our own Right to protect our self against said aliens and intruders.
Gun Confessions Of A Christian
As a Christian, Jesus Loving, Bible Thumper, I own a gun. Two guns to be exact. I love my guns! And I want more guns!
I wasn’t always a gun person. Guns used to terrify me. Only because I had now knowledge of gun safety.
When I met my husband he introduced me to archery which led to hunting, which is a another subject of its own, and that led to my love for guns.
Being a person who was terrified of guns to now being a gun lover and collector I see things differently than I did before.
I used to think guns were dangerous. Truth is a kitchen knife is just as dangerous. You can easily cut yourself or someone else just as you can shoot yourself or someone else.
Do I carry a gun? No not at this moment I don’t. Only because I am still waiting on my carry and conceal license to be approved. Which takes 120 days in Illinois if you opt out of the $85 fingerprints.
Will I carry once it is approved? Absolutely! I won’t leave my house without one of my guns.
I pray I will never have to use my gun. But in the instance I have to pull it to protect myself or my family I will do it by the grace of God.
Unfortunately, we live in a world where you can’t so much as look at someone the wrong way with out them attacking you. Let alone say something.
Just a couple weeks ago a man hit my car door with his. I didn’t dear say anything due to fear.
After all we was in the Walmart parking lot. We all know anything can happen at Walmart.
