Dear Governor JB Pritzker, today I had to have “the talk” with my 10 year old son. And it wasn’t the Birds and the Bees talk either. It was a talk about what to do if an Active Shooter walked into Walmart, or any other store, while we are there shopping.
It took every inch of strength to hold it together while having this talk with him. I had to stay strong and be a role model. A role model that believes there are still good people in this world. And a role model that loves our country regardless of what the news media, celebrities, and or athletes say or do.
I grew up in a world where it was hard to offend someone. It was a world where we could stay outside and play until the street lights came on and if we were a little late our parents didn’t have to jump on the phone calling 911 for help.
It was a world where Christian values meant something. A world where good overcame evil. What happened to that world?
I’ll tell you what happened to that world. Politicians who don’t care about the people is what happened. The moment God was taken out of our schools and out of our Government is when things began to change very quickly.
I don’t understand how you can be okay with a woman killing a baby with a heartbeat. Nor do I understand how you can be so quick to judge our President, who truly loves this country, for evil acts that he had absolutely nothing to do with!
My heart aches for the families and victims of the most recent mass shootings that took place in Texas and Ohio. However, how can you butt your nose into those situations when we have our own tragedies taking place right here in Illinois?
I never hear you say anything about the killings that take place almost daily in Chicago. You are all for Gun Control but that is NOT going to solve the problem and I believe you know it.
What are we the people, Law Abiding Citizens, supposed to do when we are in Walmart shopping and a gunman walks in with a gun or two or even three and we have nothing to protect ourselves and our families with? Can you answer that, Governor Pritzker?
Just yesterday a man walked into a Walmart in Springfield, MO with armor on and a gun with ammunition. If it were not for an off duty Firefighter, who happened to be a CCL Citizen, stepping up and confronting that crazy evil man, it could have ended very badly.
For Christmas last year I paid for myself, my husband, and my daughter to take our CCL class. Because the costs was so high between the class and the State fees my husband and I could not afford to do the fingerprints.
On the IL CC Application it states as follows:
Now please explain to me why it took the State Of Illinois 124 days to let us know we forgot to sign our certificates? May I add that I happened to log in on the 124th day wondering why we were still under review only to see that we had to resubmit our signed certificates.
We NEVER received a notification.
It has now been 162 days and we are still Under Review. After speaking, and only after speaking with, our State Representative I learned that when you re-submit a document it automatically resets the clock.
Yet on the 18th of July the Illinois State Police called me and left a voicemail stating my CCL was Approved and could take 3 weeks before I received it. Yesterday was 3 weeks. I still have not received it and it still shows Under Review.
My question now, Governor JB Pritzker, what am I supposed to do if an armed man approaches me or my family while we are out shopping? Am I supposed to just let him kill me and my family?
I mean after all it is Against The Law to shoot a Law Abiding Citizen, right? Does that mean I have nothing to worry about? Or should we restrict ourselves to Gun Free Zones until my CCL is approved and printed?
Oh! Wait. I forgot a Gun Free Zone sign doesn’t stop Evil.
Because I now have to wait to protect my family even though it is my 2nd Amendment right, I was forced to have “the talk” with my 10 year old son.
A talk that broke my heart. As I sit here and write this I can’t help but feel a little frightened to visit stores without protection. It is sad that our world has come to this point. Unfortunately, it is our reality.
What is even sadder is that Politicians just like yourself are blaming everyone and everything accept the actual person pulling the triggers.
What is the difference from a Shark attacking an innocent human who is swimming in the Sharks home than an Evil Person pulling a trigger that claims the lives of innocent people in their homes and in public? The difference, Mr. Governor, is that you blame the gun. Yet no one blames the shark.
I used to be terrified of guns. At least until I realized guns cannot hurt us! Only the person behind the gun can pull the trigger and harm you. But for some reason you think by outlawing guns or making the process to get a CCL harder will solve the problem.
If that is the case then please once again explain to me how DRUG CONTROL has worked out for this country? What about DRIVING DRUNK?
Governor JB Pritzker, I hate to break it to you but if someone wants a gun they will find a way to get it. If you take away our guns or make it harder for us to protect ourselves all you are doing is opening the door for more Evil to come in.
Never in my life did I think I would be looking to purchase a Bullet Proof Backpack for my child. Or have “the talk” about what to do if someone starts shooting while we are in a store.
And what about GUN FREE ZONES? Do you really believe that is going to stop a gunman? Again you are only inviting the EVIL in with open arms.
I was born and raised here in Illinois. I used to love this State. The Land Of Lincoln. Now, I think twice about telling someone where I live. Why? Because I feel Illinois has become a disgrace to the Unites States Of America.
There is absolutely nothing UNITING about Illinois. In fact this State has become so divided that I truly wish there was a way to break away from Chicago.
Not only are you okay with killing babies, making it harder to protect ourselves, but you are also allowing more criminals to invade us by allowing illegal immigrants in. Why is it so hard to let them in the legal way? I just don’t get it.
As for me and my family, Mr. Governor, I pray every morning that God will protect us both in our home and in public.
Just remember Governor JB Pritzker if something happens to me or my family because of your outrageous laws and beliefs, our blood will be on your hands. Just as all the other Innocent Law Abiding Citizens.
